For our foreign visitors: what is SVContact.com?

Dear visitor,

thanks for visiting our website. Since march 2002 SV Contact Club is an official club in The Netherlands and Belgium (both are relatively small countries in Western-Europe). The members (januari 2004: around 175 members) of SV Contact Club have one thing in common: they all own a sport/tour V-twin Suzuki motorcycle. At the moment Suzuki has produced three sport/tour V-twin motorcycles in the last couple of years: the SV650, TL1000 and SV1000. A faired and unfaired version of the SV650 and SV1000 are available; the TL1000 is also available in two different versions (although both are faired), the TL1000S and TL1000R.

SV Contact Club does not have a real-life building where members meet each other. The website is our meeting-point, together our forum. Also, on a regular base meetings are organised.

Our goal is to have as much fun with each other as possible. Members can exchange information about their bikes and get help and advice from other members about (for example) maintenance. This is all possible without any payment to the club, just subscribe to one of the yahoogroups.

If you decide to become an official member of the SV Contact club (and pay EUR. 32,- for a one year membership (next year EUR. 21) it is possible to join organised events (track days, tours, weekends, etc.). You will also receive a newsletter 10 times per year, it's possible to put your own pictures on the website and you will be able to buy your motorcycle-related products at a couple of stores for lower prices when you show your SV Contact club membership card. Last but not least, you'll support SVContact to present itself at some important motorcycle-events in The Netherlands and Belgium.

The website is written in Dutch and contains a lot of information. For example, there is a news page, a newsletter archive, pictures of some members and stories about past events. There is a lot of information available about the different types of motorcycles, information about howto join the yahoogroups, a picture of the month, and contact information. And a lot more :-) Some of this information can only be accessed by members of SV Contact Club.

If you want to join a SV650, SV1000 or TL1000 motorcycle club and you're a foreigner you might consider a different club. For SV650 riders, http://www.svrider.org is a famous world-wide website with it's own mailinglist and online board. If you are living in The Netherlands or Belgium, just join our forum and read all information on the website! If you want to contact one of the members of the board (for example if you are a member of a German or French SV or TL motorcycle club and want to organize an international meeting), please send an e-mail to our chairman.

We hope you'll enjoy your visit to this website,

SV Contact Club (webbeheer@svcontact.com)
